TouchPoints Ministry

TouchPoints Ministry is one of CornerPixel's customers.  I however can NOT take credit for the design of the website, but was tasked to move TouchPoints Ministry's website to a different CMS.  I recommended DotNetNuke and after it was approved by TouchPoints I transfered their website to DotNetNuke.

As it is right now the sites markup does not validate, but that is due to the CMS coding behind the website. The CSS validates and I used web standards best practices to transform this site from a once IE6 and IE7 only website to a site that looks the same across many browsers and platforms.

The part that I am proud of the most is the work done to make the editor part look and act exactly as the rest of the page did.  I added an XML sheet to the "skin" in order to give the text editor the same styles and look as the rest of the website.  This also allows my user to select classes and styles from the pull down menu within the text editor provided with DotNetNuke.  I even added a class option that gives images on the page a white border to reflect the style throughout the site.  The original plan was to Photoshop all the sites photos and put the white border around the pictures, but I didn't want to end up with useless images down the road when another redesign is put in place.

I enjoy doing CMS work, especially using DotNetNuke. TouchPoints Ministry has been happy with what DNN and CornerPixel can and has offered them.

There is a lot to be said for this open source CMS that is both robust and easy enough for non-techies to edit.

A small bit of info

Did you know that it is easy to include conditional comments to your DotNetNuke Skin?

Yes and stay tuned for a small guide on that in the CornerPixel Blog.
