You have found the CornerPixel of the NET. Thanks for stopping by. I guess the first thing to do is explain the name CornerPixel.
As most of you know, when a building is being built it starts with the cornerstone. If you look up the work cornerstone you find it described as follows.
After reading those definitions, I started thinking about the internet, and came to the conclusion that the "web" or internet is built of pixels not stones, so instead of having a cornerstone you would have a CornerPixel. Hence the name I have picked for my site and company.
I am hoping to build a place to act as that CornerPixel of the NET. I am a big proponent of Web Standards and believe that they are essential and a chief foundation of a good website, and I want to provide a place for all people interested in designing and developing websites to come and find good materials to guide them in the pursuit of a good website.
I am also a big proponent of a good CMS for users that want to create a nice website but don't have all the skills necessary. The bad thing about CMS's is they generally spit out bad markup. I am hoping this site will also help those developing websites in a CMS. As you see there is a <cms/> menu at the top which will have links to some CMS's that I design "skins" or "themes" for. These "skins" and "themes" will all be done with web standards in mind and will validate. They will not keep the CMS from spitting out bad markup, but will help form a good foundation for the sites done in these CMS's.
NOTE:
Right now this site is quite small, but in the future it will grow as I come across issues and fixes while I design and develop websites for myself and my customers.
Have fun poking around and please check out the blogs for good information.
Thanks
~Mike
